“Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson” to be screened in Manzanita on September 25th

The Manzanita Film Series is proud to present “Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson” on September 25th at 7p.m. at the Hoffman Center in Manzanita. This fast moving documentary looks at the uncanny life of gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson. Fueled by Wild Turkey and superhuman doses of drugs, we are shown Thompson’s major touchstone moments such as his ill-fated relationship with the Hell’s Angels, his involvement in George McGovern’s 1972 presidential campaign and much more through clips of never-before-seen home movies, audiotapes and passages from unpublished manuscripts.

The Manzanita Film Series is a program of the Hoffman Center in Manzanita, Oregon. Films will be screened on the 4th weekend of the month throughout the year. Admission is $6 and theater concessions, as well as beer and wine, will be available for purchase.
