“A Jazzatti-tude Christmas” w/ special guest Gwendolyn Phillips Coates

mom1Tis the season of holly and jolly! Join Jazzatti-tude share the joy of the holiday spirit with some of your favorite jazz and Christmas songs on Wednesday, December 23rd at 7 pm at the Hoffman Center. $10 at the door ages 12 and older. Light refreshments will be served.

Jazzatti-tude is a four-piece ensemble playing traditional, cool and popular jazz at parties and events across the north Oregon coast. Jazzatti-tude has been playing the area as an instrumental trio (Bob, Doug & Clint) since 2013 and has recently added the great vocals of LaNicia Williams. Bob Brook – formally of Shy Jazz – plays guitar and has helped keep jazz alive on the north Oregon Coast for 13 years. Doug Proctor plays keyboards and hails from Atlanta, GA. Doug played classic rock in the southeastern US for 30 years and Christian music for several church worship teams for 6 years before discovering jazz. Clint Smith discovered the double bass shortly before retiring as a forest and wildlife ecologist. Clint spent his formative years in the Deep South enjoying all types of music, including traditional and modern jazz. Our newest member LaNica Williams has taken the coast by storm singing jazz and cooking Soul Food. LaNicia was raised in Redondo Beach, CA and comes from generations of singers and ministers.

Our guest vocalist is Gwendolyn Phillips Coates from Long Beach, CA. It is a special treat to have her on the north Coast singing with her daughter LaNicia. In 2016, Gwendolyn will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of her Christmas CD, “It’s Christmas, Rejoice!” She also has a contemporary gospel jazz CD, “Grateful”. Gwendolyn is an author (Waiting on My Lunch Date: A journey Through Grief and a Path to Joy), pastor, actress, mother of three (Faundsworth, LaNicia and Philip) and grandmother of 4.
