Sculpting in Clay with Sher Davidson

This class is CANCELLED.

June 2, 2017 | 1-3pm
Instructor: Sher Davidson

A visual artist for over 30 years, Sher worked as a metal smith to design and create custom jewelry. In the past thirteen years, she returned to painting and sculpting. She makes her part time home in Nehalem Oregon and in San Miguel de Allende Mexico. Her work was recently presented along side the painter who inspired them, Ruben Morales.

Sher will demonstrate the step by step process of creating sculpture from clay, starting with a sketch or photo to fully formed and ready for firing. This is not a hands-on workshop but Sher’s upbeat conversation style will make this demo very informative.  All levels of skill are welcome.  Cost is $30.

Space is limited to 20

Clay Studio Artists’ Pieces For Sale in Local Retailers

You can now find work by several potters from the Clay Studio in local retailers.

Barry Calvarese sells his tea cups and Buddhas at Manzanita News and Espresso, Mother Nature’s, and The Roost in Wheeler.

Mary Roberts sells her mugs and other pottery at various studio fund raisers. More recently she collaborated with the owners of Finnesterre to develop an exclusive “Manzanita Mug” in two sizes with rustic typeface and layers of glaze mimicking beach, sea, and sunset to remind people of the coast.

“Finnesterre owners Terri, Fred, and Matt have all been fabulous to work with,” said Mary.  “When I approached them, they were immediately interested. They wanted to do something to support the Hoffman Center for the Arts and working together we were also able to address a frequent customer request for a unique hand made Manzanita memento.”

100% of the net proceeds go to benefit the Hoffman Clay Studio.
