The Hoffman Center’s Manzanita Film Series will present the award-winning 2005 documentary feature “Grizzly Man” Saturday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. Admission will be $7. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
Directed by Werner Herzog, “Grizzly Man” tells the story of amateur bear enthusiast Timothy Treadwell who lived among grizzlies in Alaska off and on over five years before he and his girlfriend Amie Huguenard were killed by one of them in 2003. Treadwell’s footage of his interactions with the bears was later recovered and used to make the film. Herzog also interviewed friends of Treadwell and Huguenard for the documentary.
Film Series leader Jonathan Feder will offer commentary on the feature before and after the presentation.
