The Hoffman Center for the Arts is pleased to present another Zentangle class with Deb Thompson on the weekend of November 12-13. Tuition is $35 per day, $70 for both days, plus a $6 materials fee for each day (paid directly to the instructor).

This class will build upon Zentangle: The Basics/Beyond The Basics class, though beginners will find success with the easy to follow instruction, supportive environment, and reinforcement that “There are no mistakes in Zentangle.” Instructor Deb Thompson will highlight the eight steps of the Zentangle Method, and teach students Zentangle patterns that can build a Zentangle foundation. No prior knowledge of or practice of Zentangle is necessary.

Students will become familiar with the techniques that will give their work that recognizable Renaissance look and feel. They will explore tangles from a new angle. Sunday, November   13, 9:30 a.m. to Noon:Black Zentangle Tiles provide a new medium for students to explore. Very basic, yet dramatic tangles will be the focus of our work on black tiles.  CANCELLED.

Deb has been practicing the art of Zentangle for several years. I have completed the Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT) seminar in Providence, Rhode Island with Zentangle founders, Rick Roberts, and Maria Thomas. Since becoming a CZT, I have been actively teaching group and individual Zentangle classes in the Eugene, Oregon area. I have a shared family vacation home in Manzanita, and visit as frequently as possible.

Zentangle: The Basics and Beyond Class on October 2nd

zentangle image2The Hoffman Center for the Arts is bringing back Deb Thompson for another Zentangle class on Sunday, October 2nd from 9:30 to noon.

The Zentangle Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. Almost anyone can use it to create beautiful images. It increases focus and creativity, provides artistic satisfaction along with an increased sense of personal well-being. The Zentangle Method is enjoyed all over this world, across a wide range of skills, interests and ages. We believe that life is an art form and that our Zentangle Method is an elegant metaphor for deliberate artistry in life.

This class will provide a beginner with a background in the history of Zentangle, introduce them to the basics steps of the method and expose them to associated vocabulary and tools used. Students will be immersed in creating actual Zentangle tiles and will leave with a clear understanding that, “Anything is possible one stroke at a time.”® A mosaic photograph of class creations will be taken at the conclusion of the class. A unique hashtag will be assigned to the mosaic so that students can share the magic of a Zentangle mosaic with their family and friends.

Tuition for the class is $35.00, with a $6.00 materials fee paid to instructor at class time

*For returning Zentangle students: Bring your starter kit, and there will be no materials fee.
