Karen Keltz reads at August Open Mic
After featured author Matt Love reads from his latest book, Super Sunday in Newport, be prepared for a special Open Mic. You’ve all heard that cliche’ “It was a dark and stormy night…”, right? Well, now we want you to share five minutes just on that topic. It can be a poem that includes the line, a scary story, or an essay. Heck, bring a guitar and you can sing a song. All that we ask is that somewhere in there, you say the words “it was a dark and stormy night….”
Nine writers, seasoned or aspiring, are invited to sign up at the door for five minutes of glory. Be sure to practice near a clock, though. We stick to the schedule so that everyone gets the opportunity to share their work.
