Dark & Stormy 2011

November 4th - 6th

It’s almost here!

The Dark & Stormy Beach Weekend November 4-6 in Manzanita offers fun activities and discounts for everyone.

“What’s there to do on a Dark & Stormy Weekend at the Beach?” Plenty!

The second Dark and Stormy weekend in Manzanita offers events and activities for all ages.

Books of course are central to winter on the coast. Join your fellow writers and book lovers 7 pm Saturday November 5 to hear New York Times Bestselling author Chelsea Cain read from her new book The Night Season. Dubbed the “Queen of serial-killer fiction” by Kirkus Reviews, Cain sets her latest book in Portland, (very appropriately for us), during a massive storm and flooding. Find out more about why she writes thrillers here.  Her reading will be followed by our popular Open Mic focused on the theme of “It was a dark and stormy night” at the Hoffman Center in Manzanita.

Workshops for Writers and Artists

During the day Saturday and Sunday, writers will have lots of opportunity to hone their craft with three different workshops.  Click here for detailed information and to register.
