The sixth edition of The North Coast Squid will be published in March 2018.
The literary magazine offers local writers and those who have a strong connection to the north Oregon coast a way to share their work in print.
We accept online submissions from writers with a connection to the north Oregon coast for fiction, poetry, nonfiction (including memoir) and a category for young writers age 18 and under. Submissions are judged by nationally-recognized authors outside the coastal area and include Arthur Bradford (fiction), Andrea Hollander (poetry), Diana Abu-Jaber (nonfiction) and April Henry (young writers category). Artists are invited to submit work, both for the black and white interior pages and the color cover. The Squid’s editorial team selects from among those submissions. Be sure to read the guidelines for submitting images.

Current issues of the North Coast Squid can be purchased at Cloud and Leaf Bookstore and Manzanita News and Espresso in Manzanita, the Beehive in Nehalem, Lucy’s Books in Astoria, Beach Books in Seaside, the Rowboat Gallery in Pacific City. Net proceeds from the $5 cover price go towards future issues of the North Coast Squid.
